Component 1 - Improving business environment and enhancing competitiveness of private sector, focuses on the following:
- Improving access for MSMEs and startups to knowledge, technologies, services, markets, and finance: The project facilitates the provision of direct financial and non-financial services to existing businesses and startups. It also supports the provision of business support and development services, which continue beyond the project’s duration with local stakeholders` support.
- Human capital development: The project provides capacity development measures and networking support for businesses, entrepreneurs, and employees, with a special focus on the needs of women, youth, and disadvantaged groups, to enhance their successful participation in business life.
The mid and long-term goals are to ensure effective business support services and favorable framework conditions for businesses in Syunik. Given the current lack of such services and conditions, the R2D project directly provides financial and non-financial support for businesses in the short term. It also implements capacity development initiatives to bridge existing gaps while simultaneously working towards establishing services and favorable framework conditions that can be sustainably maintained by key stakeholders in Armenia.
